A lot of people are feeling some stress these days. Maybe your house has declined in value. Mine has. Maybe your income is unsteady and causing some financial worry. A majority of folks in and around the real estate industry have experienced the same. Along with a whole lot of other folks.
I know I hear the stories and worry every day. And that’s okay; it goes along with my profession.
But, today, I woke and remembered that on 9/9/01, my family and I flew back to Atlanta, from a vacation in California. And I remembered that phone call from my brother early in the workday on Sept. 11, with a simple statement, “Are you watching TV?”. Well, we did not have a television in the office, so we all gathered around a radio, and listened. And we tried to process it all. I think the events of that day were possibly more potent by radio, letting the mind’s eye form the images.
And, today I remembered that I expected another attack at any time. I worried for my family, my friends, and my country.
Today, I am grateful for living in this great country, and that our military and our leaders have taken on their duty and ensured that there have been no further attacks on our soil. So today, with the housing slump and the economic uncertainty we are in…I ask God to continue to bless America. And I am thankful for all the blessings I have.
